If you’re marveling how does smoking affect your body, you might be astonished how a great deal of negative health effects result from this habit. There are a good deal of ailments proven to be caused by smoking. I’ll talk about the major effects on the body here.

First, smoking decreases the amount of oxygen received by the body, which contributes to numerous health problems. Oxygen helps cleanse the body of all sickness and impurities. That’s why numerous persons use oxygen therapy to genuinely treat disease.

Inhaling smoke without delay starts damaging the cilia in your body. Cilia are hair like extensions that help move cells around your body through liquid such as blood. So your circulation is affected principally by smoking.

Since your circulation is affected, skin is damaged by smoking too. A mutual trait of older smokers is their wrinkled, old looking skin. Many smokers have more wrinkles than they would if they didn’t smoke. This is because of the harm to skin cells caused by smoking.

Smoking damages the alveolus in your lungs immediately. These are tiny air sacs in the lungs that support the transfer oxygen and carbon dioxide from the body. Once these are damaged, new alveoli are formulated which aren’t as healthful as former alveoli.

This detrimental cycle in the lungs is the major cause of emphysema and a great deal of other chronic lung affiliated illnesses. Like a great deal of other diseases, emphysema results in numerous other collateral impairment of normal physiological functions because the person doesn’t get sufficient oxygen into the body.

If you’re still asking how does smoking affect your body, hopefully you’re beginning to grasp the a lot of risks. Smoking likewise affects your body by creating an addiction for nicotine, which will have to be fulfilled or it produces side effects in the person. The withdrawal procedure and need for more nicotine actually starts without delay after a person stops smoking a cigarette or other tobacco product.

The craving intensifies until nicotine is provided to the body again. When stopping, mutual side effects are irritability, lack of concentration, and headaches. Nicotine addiction is very powerful. Many compare it to being a slave to a deadly substance.

Studies have shown that one milligram of nicotine placed on the skin of a rat will kill the rodent. People inhale approximately one milligram of nicotine when smoking a cigarette. This helps put in terms the toxicity of nicotine on the humane body.

In conclusion, since smoking decreases the amount of oxygen in your body, each portion of your body that depends on oxygen is negatively affected. Basically, your whole body needs a great deal of oxygen. Besides the major difficulties I already discussed, smoking also affects your teeth, fat deposits, and numerous other areas of the body.

Hopefully you’ve learned how does smoking affect your body and you’ll choose to not smoke or quit if you’ve already been smoking for a while.

As with all Apple marketing, the iPhone syndication scheme is very clear, simple and clever. With the plain and simple apple icon, Apple focuses on the pure modern style of their merchandise without all the “fluff”. The iPhone was freed by Apple in June, 2007. The ground-breaking style of the iPhone was touted for months before the initial release and has remained the best of the best when it comes to cell phones over the past various years. Before the iPhone’s official release, Apple ran four television commercials furthering the new cell phone.

The original of the commercials portrays the new iPhone as the next step up from the general iPod. The iPod was all the rage up until this point, and the iPhone was supposed to be the next-generation iPod, oh, and it’s likewise a phone! The advert displays all of the intensified features available in the iPod, and more, the point being “There’s never been an iPod that may do this.”

“So, say you’re looking at Pirates of the Caribbean”

Finger clicks on video and displays wide screen movie.

“Mmm, did an individual say Calamari?”

Finger clicks back to menu, selects Maps application to search ‘Seafood’.

“The nearest would be…”

Map displays all seafood emplacements and highlights emplacement nearest to you.

“Ah!”

Finger clicks seafood location, and restaurant phone number displayed. iPhone dial’s.

The original four iPhone commercials flaunted the convenience, innovation, and usefulness of a single product with the functionality of not only a phone, or a music device, but a product that can, among other things, listen to music, watch videos, view photos, make group discussion calls, check e-mail, browse the web, and view maps.

Not only does Apple utilize television for their syndication strategy, but they make use of their web site by posting videos, they also published a handful of press releases that could have been freed in one single document. Apple often times uses this tactic to build up hype and leave the buyer wanting more.

With Apple’s brief press releases, giving the audience little to go off, “Apple leveraged a law of social physics – news, like nature, abhors a vacuum. In the absence of real information, those who care when it comes to a product will perceive at any rumor that comes their way. Apple may publicly disavow the rumor Web websites that scramble for scraps when it comes to the companies plans, but secretly their merchandising section will have to be delighted. It would cost a lot to buy that kind of Web advertising.” (Silverman, 2007)

The official iPhone internetlocation does more than just provide data when it comes to the product. The internetsite provides top tips and tricks for the use of an iPhone, as well as a big focus on apps. Almost the entire iPhone page displays images of apps, provides the “App of the Week,” the website likewise holds subdivisions titled “Apps for Everything,” and the “Top Apps.” Apple’s website is a outstanding merchandising tool for current iPhone users and buyers that have an interest in purchasing the iPhone. The publicity of the apps will develop a more inviolable source of revenue for Apple. As clients see top rated applications, they are more likely to download the app, rather than searching through 25,000+ apps to find one that may be of any value to the consumer.

Successful younger men were the target audience that Apple had in the first place concentered on. Apple had hoped that with this target audience, and the fact that 48% of this audience did not already own an Apple iPod, would concede them to reach their forecast of 10 million sales by the end of 2008.

One month prior to the release of the iPhone, Solutions Research Group profiled a cross-section of those conscious of the phone. The forecast of potential buyers for the day of the release ranked a majority of T-Mobile customers, AT&T’s only GSM-based product competitor, at 15%. The second greatest group expected to buy the new iPhone was AT&T’s existent client base, at 12%. The Solutions Research Group likewise found that 72% of males, versus 28% of women were most likely to investigate the phone at it is minimum price of $499. (Malley, 2007)

The evident current target audiences for the Apple iPhone include young people amongst the ages of 20 and 35, affluent teenagers, “jet-setters”, and “mobile” workers who work outside of the office.

Apple is known for their simplistic, but attentiongetting commercials. In recent television commercials for the Apple iPhone, “There’s an App for that” is the new catch phrase that places a strong focus on the apps available from the App Store. Apps, or applications, are in “every category, from games to business, education to entertainment, finance to health and fitness, productivity to social networking. These apps have been designed to take vantage of iPhone features such as Multi-Touch, the accelerometer, wireless, and GPS” (Apple, 2009). Apple presently claims to have 25,000+ apps available, and counting.

The focus on the variation of apps offered opens up the target audience greatly. There is basically an app for everyone. As a few of the iPhone commercials advertise, you may find the snow conditions on the mountain, track calories in your lunch, find precisely where you parked your car. You may find a cab in a strange city, find your part of the bill for a table of 5, or learn to repair a wobbly bookshelf. You may read a restaurant review, read an MRI, or just read a regular old book. These are just a few of the features that Apple has promoted through television commercials. iPhone apps provide each functionality that one may imagine.

When the iPhone was initially released, it was priced at a hefty $599. Still, hundreds of thousands of humans rushed out to get the new phone, forking over a third as much as they would have had they waited an extra 3 months. 3 months after the initial release, Apple scaled down the price of the iPhone to $399. This enraged Apple’s loyal clients and buyers who purchased the new phone just months earlier. One year later, Apple again scaled down the price of the iPhone to $199, 66% less than the primary price.

In July, 2007, the Apple iPhone was all the hype. I believe that Apple’s decision to release the phone at $599 was somewhat based on greed. However, their product was the most innovative out in the market place, giving Apple the freedom to price the iPhone at whatsoever they wanted. Many believed that Apple had cut the price after discovering lower than expected iPhone sales. Apple, however, states that the price cut was made “to spur holiday sales and anticipated that Apple would meet it is stated goal of retail it is 1 millionth iPhone by the end of September.” (Dalrymple, 2007)

As with the product life cycle of any cell phone or Apple product, including Apple’s iPod, prices are many times scaled down drasti months after the initially release. Tech merchandise are always competing versus “the latest and greatest” while sustaining a applicable price in the market place. Had Apple not scaled down the price of the iPhone, the client base would have dwindled quickly as numerous buyers are unwilling to spend $599 on a cell phone, no matter how a great deal of utile features the phone may carry.

As the iPhone remains to be the number one smart phone around, the product proceeds to grow, increasing size capabilities, increasing the number of apps available, and supplying new features that are freed through new iterations of the phone, proceed to provide a more outstanding value to the iPhone while the pricing remains relevant.

At this time in the product life cycle, Apple proceeds to release intensified iterations of the iPhone. With most iPhone users un-willing to buy a newer version of the iPhone because of price, the target audience for the newer generation phones is new iPhone customers. With Apple’s installed base continuing to grow, they have found a way fetch in reoccurring revenue from their existent clients through the sales of their application downloads. As more and more persons buy the iPhone, Apple’s audience for new clients proceeds to dwindle. Fortunately for Apple, they have built in another source for revenue that proceeds all around the life of the product.

When we in the long run determine to quit smoking, one of the introductory things on our minds is how to deal with cigarette cravings. There’s a good reason for this – nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs in the world. More so than even heroine and cocaine! On top of the chemical dependence that we all form, there is the psychological addiction. This is fundamentally the aroused habit we form of learning to depend on a cigarette for a (false) sense of relief from a good deal of sensed stressor.

Today, there are more merchandise available to quit smoking than ever. As cravings are your biggest obstacle to quitting, it is natural that most of these merchandise focus most on this aspect. Unfortunately, a good deal of fail in their design – at times even making it worse. The two key ingredients in cigarette cravings are:

1. Nicotine Addiction and Chemical Dependence

The introductory problem we normally encounter when quitting is nicotine withdrawal. 15 minutes after our last cigarette, our nicotine blood level starts declining, and we commence cravings again. 40 minutes after our last cigarette, nicotine levels in our brain have wholly diminished. As such, most of us go when it comes to an hour without a cigarette.

When we quit, cravings and withdrawal sensations or changes gradually increase for when it comes to 3 days, at which time they peak. Cravings then stay steady anyplace from 2 weeks up to a month.

Symptoms of nicotine withdrawal include:

Intense cigarette cravings (obviously)

Anxiety

Irritability and similar intense emotions

Headache and Nausea

Trouble with focusing and sleeping, drowsiness

Appetite Increase (due to blood sugar changes)

2. Psychological Addiction

A much more complex problem, and where a great deal of ‘quit smoking aids’ fail altogether in their approach, is with our psychological addiction. This is the one that may cause a successful quitter of 10 years to pick up one cigarette and get started chain smoking again. The problem is aroused dependence on a substance to alleviate stress.

In our youth, a great deal of of us started out smoking underneath peer pressure of a heap of type. It was cool, we fit in, we appeared ‘more mature’. As time passed, life went on, we ‘learned’ to cope with a heap of of our stress and difficultnesses by ‘lighting up’. The sentiment of instant relief brought by a cigarette puff tricked our brain into believing it made us feel better with regards to difficultnesses we thought we couldn’t do anything about. Years of this habit forms very strong aroused and physical memories in our neural pathways. We never genuinely forget them, but they fade as time passes.

Many of us find psychological addiction more powerful than nicotine. We may get through the chemical dependence by distracting ourselves in a lot of manner. But ‘unlearning’ to reach for a cigarette when we want to feel better is much more difficult – specially if we struggle with heavy life stress or depression issues.

Any successful quit accordingly depends upon addressing all elements involved in cigarette smoking.

It is stress that drives a young adolescent into a relationship. Confirmation that she has conceived a child brings on added stress. She is too young to face this aroused challenge and unable to determine what to do when it comes to the pregnancy. Furthermore, a big number of negative effects follow a teenage pregnancy, a major one being social stigma. This has been proved by exploration studies galore.

To go into details regarding the traumatic effects of teenage pregnancy-

(1) What is an adolescent’s age? It is someplace among 10 and 19 years. Getting pregnant at this age may be life-threatening. Mortality rates are four times higher for a pregnant teenager in the age bracket of 15 to 19, than for women aged amongst 25 and 29 years. The unborn child is at increased peril too. For girls falling into the age bracket of 10 to 14, it is even worse. Should they have live births, the infant is likely to die soon or face severe health challenges.

(2) Teenage pregnancy makes it difficult for the girl to carry on with her education. The drop-out rate is consequently finelooking high. Even if they come from similar backgrounds, 61% of adolescents wait till the age of 20 to 21 to have babies and accordingly finish high school. In contrast are those girls who give birth to children before they have finished 18 years of age; only 41% become high school graduates.

(3) Even after giving birth, the young mother finds it difficult to keep up with her peers where academic performance is concerned. She is forced to repeat classes and exhibits poor scoring in standardized tests. Ultimately, she may never graduate at all.

(4) Finding a regular source of income becomes difficult as each occupation position demands sure accomplishments which are markedly missing out because of not having a proper education.

(5) The only substitute left after a teenage pregnancy is to take public assistance, that is, go on welfare. Most of these teens are unmarried and over 75% of them ask for support within five years of getting mothers. Some researchers feel that poverty-ridden teenagers welcome pregnancy so that they may get financial support from the child’s father; this is supposed to be a survival mechanism to escape hopeless poverty.

(6) Children born to such young parents many times display retarded psycho-social development and malnutritional effects. This is because a teenage mother lacks parenting skills. She fails to comprehend what her child needs and does not realize the importance of smiling, touching or verbally communicating with her child. Anger versus society is taken out on the child and physical abuse is possible.

(7) When grown up, the young ones of these ‘teen mothers’ exhibit behavioral tendencies which are deemed socially unacceptable. This is in fact the worst effect of a teenage pregnancy. The son may become a criminal offender and land up in prison – the rate is three times more for these boys than normal criminals. The daughter may follow in the footsteps of her mother and become a victim of teenage pregnancy herself.

Ask a hundred people, ‘Will you gain weight when you stop smoking?’, and almost all will say, ‘Yes’.

And yet…..virtually all ARE wrong. If I asked you the question now, what would you say?

But before you answer, please read this article…….AND find out the real truth when it comes to smoking and weight gain……..and THEN answer.

The Old Willpower Method

This is important. Get this clear in your mind.

When you stop smoking, it does not mean that you HAVE TO gain weight.

There are two parts to this problem and it is essential that you understand BOTH of them.

First, I need to be honorable with you……

Yes, in the past, humans DID tend to gain weight when they gave up smoking.

But this was BECAUSE most humans tried to give up smoking using the old Will-Power Method alone.

These persons believed that when they gave up, they would feel terrible.

They were then told that the ONLY way to deal with these cravings was to endure them………and hope that, with time and persistence, they would go away.

They were advised above all…… to use their Willpower and FORCE themselves not to smoke.

And……finally, they were told…. to eat snacks or nibble this or that – ANYTHING, in fact to keep them busy and their minds OFF smoking.

Why eat?

Because the sentiment or the ‘hunger’ for a cigarette is very similar to the sentiment you get when you are hungry.

And so, in the past, humans ate in the terrible mistaken faith that by eating, they could satisfy their craving for a cigarette and that it would aid them keep their minds off smoking.

But of course it didn’t work…..

….And the MORE the sentiment came back….. the MORE they ate in the faith it could help them.

‘Your present is NOT dependent on your past’

So we all have to receive that there was a heap of validity for persons profiting weight in the past when they tried to quit.

But that need not be the cause today.

Remember the CAUSE was not giving up smoking but HOW these people went when it comes to the routine of giving up smoking.

If you look almost at how they went in regards to it, you’ll see that….People ate TO NUMB their cravings.

Remember, when you give up smoking, you too will get these selfsame feeling/craving – ‘I want a cigarette.’

And you will experience similar sensations when you realize that you can not have one.

But not similar to the old Willpower Method, you will not eat extra in order to ESCAPE or NUMB these feelings.

Why?

Because, as we explain in Our Course you will want to WELCOME and ACCEPT these feelings. You will WANT to transmute them.

These FEELINGS/CRAVINGS are NOW the KEY to your success.

Please underline this: The Old Way (Willpower method) was to hate and fear these cravings to smoke.

You were told you had a huge fight on your hands, that these sensations would be unpleasing and overpowering.

And because the sentiment you get when you want a cigarette is similar to how you feel when you are hungry, of course, you believed that by eating, you could satisfy these sensations or at least alleviate them.

But all you did was to temporarily block off these feelings.

By eating, you give yourself an pardon not to have to deal with and in truth feel these feelings.

You put off the evil day……..and started to put on the pounds!

Never forget that when you give up smoking, you will CONTINUE to have these empty, restless, insecure cravings for the introductory two or three weeks…..

But now, for the primary time in your life, LET yourself have these feelings, these empty sensations in your body. Actually feel them, moment-by-moment in your body.

CALL THEIR BLUFF!.

Sure, you will get the temptation to eat extra – to recompense – to ‘fill’ in the sensations you believe you are now lacking.

These desires are natural, normal.

They are not bad in themselves. And they are ONLY TEMPORARY.

Just feel them! Yes, it takes courage not to run away and try to escape by eating extra.

If you will just have goodnatured tolerance and stay with these feelings, you will discover your moment of truth – that these cravings are no big deal and that you may effortlessly handle them.

You don’t have to eat to escape from them. (to find out more with regards to this process, go to our free course at (http://www.quitsmokingonline.com/ )

Please underline:

The faith that you will mechanically gain weight if you stop smoking is a myth.

However, there is one other issue we ought to deal with in regard to weight gain before we proceed.

This is the second part of the problem we brought up earlier……..

Increased metabolism?

Again and again, get this clear in your mind: Giving up smoking does not mechanically have to lead to weight gain. And even the latest studies seem to assert this.

In a big study in the UK involving over a thousand women quitting up smoking – no clear picture emerged.

Some women gained weight, others experienced no alter whatsoever while other women in truth LOST weight!

However, in regard to the women who gained weight – the intermediate gain of amongst 5 to 10 pounds over a number of months was in general attributed to metabolic alterations i.e. the modify in their metabolic rate.

Let’s look at this cautiously as a lot of people, peculiarly women STILL use this as an pardon not to give up smoking.

The effects of smoking

To help us, let’s try to grasp the effects of smoking on your weight……..

First of all, smoking DOES burn calories. Up to 200 a day if you are a heavy smoker. Thus smoking may increase your energy expenditure or metabolism.

What does this mean?

It means that when you quit smoking it may cause slight weight gain for sure people (unless we take suitable action!) because their body begins to work more expeditiously and their body’s metamorphosis slows and feed is digested more efficiently.

Is this bad news if it applies to you? No. it’s not.

Please consider this…..

An intermediate candy bar holds 300 calories. If you were to stick to your regular eating habits but eat just six less candy bars (or equivalent calories found in a heap of other feed item) per month, you could effortlessly prevent yourself from profiting even a single pound.

It’s that easy!

All it means is that you’ll have to learn how to , as Kristy Farley points out ……..outsmart the pounds!

But first, get this clear in your mind again and again.

When you give up smoking and do not RUN AWAY FROM or undertake to NUMB your cravings by EATING, YOU WILL NOT GAIN WEIGHT when you stop smoking.

The only weight gain numerous of our readers ought to be conscious of is a slight weight gain of up to 5 pounds due to the change in their metabolic rate.

However, you may EASILY even stay clear from that by taking the FOLLOWING SIMPLE ACTION…….

……Outsmart the Pounds!

To ward off profiting ANY extra pounds when you quit, follow these simple steps and improve your general health at the same time.

Remember, if you are a heavy smoker, smoking will burn up 200 calories a day so……

To burn an approximated 200 calories used by smoking, for example, walk briskly for 45 minutes or swim laps for 30 minutes each day.

Or eliminate 200 calories of feed intake, and you’ve employed up the extra calories from not smoking. What does that translate to?

2 lite beers (220 calories)

20 regular potato chips (220 calories)

4 chocolate sandwich cookies (213 calories)

2 tablespoon of butter (200 calories)

2 oz. of cheddar cheese (220 calories)

1 little order of McDonalds fries (210 calories)

1 hot dog and roll (250 calories)

2 frozen waffles (240 calories)

1/2 cup macaroni and cheese (205 calories)

One gain of quitting, nonetheless is that as your body realizes the gains of not smoking, your energy levels will increase, and you will start out to feel better physically.

A moderate increase in physical action may keep weight gain to a minimum so…..Exercise daily.

A daily moderate workout not only distracts you from smoking, but also helps reduce tension and stress. Endorphins freed in the brain for the duration of exercise genuinely make you feel better. Exercise also increments metabolism, helping you burn more calories.

And …..here’s a outstanding fact from the New York Times:

‘The good news is that the very fear of profiting weight is also the #1 deterrent to avoiding weight gain.

The outstanding news is that studies show that at least 25% of all former smokers so fear weight-gain they actually LOSE weight once they’ve quit!’

Essential Summary

If you do not RUN AWAY FROM or try to NUMB your cravings to smoke by EATING, YOU WILL NOT GAIN WEIGHT when you quit smoking. FACT.

And even if you are one of those who may experience a slight weight gain of up to 5 pounds, due to metabolic changes- that is the easiest thing to remedy! FACT

Follow our simple counsel – and you will not gain even an extra pound!

But the crucial thing to do not forget here is this:

It was the Old Way of giving up smoking that caused people to gain weight in the past.

It was the terrible idea that you will have to use Willpower to FORCE yourself not to smoke.

And the idea that you could use substitutes like feed to BLOCK or to ESCAPE from these cravings.

But our approach to giving up smoking is the precise opposite.

We want you to FACE and WELCOME ALL the cravings you get when you stop.

We want you to TRANSFORM them. You now know that by permitting and opening to each sentiment and desire WITHOUT judgment or resistance you may MAGICALLY transform how these sensations FEEL, moment-by-moment in your body.

They may genuinely be experienced as gratifying sensations – and therefore you will feel no obligation to use feed to escape from these cravings.

So why carry on EVERY DAY to….CONGEST your lungs with cancerous tars. To CLUTTER up and POISON your blood vessels. And to SENTENCE yourself to a lifetime of…..

* Filth* Bad breath* Stained teeth* Burnt clothes* Filthy ashtrays* And the foul smell of stale tobacco….

……all because of the mistaken BELIEF that if you stop smoking, you will have to gain weight.

Go on….show the world by your own PERSONAL EXAMPLE that it is a LIE!

Because it is!

And as you show them, ENJOY totally all the outstanding prompt gains you’ll experience when you stop…..

You’ll feel stronger, younger, healthier

Your complexion will be better.

Your teeth and fingers will no longer be yellow.

Your eyes will look healthier, more alive and vibrant.

And your clothes and breath will no longer stink of stale smoke.

You’ll feel f-r-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c !!

Now……what is your answer to that Question, ‘Will you gain weight when you stop smoking?’

The greatest problem with quitting smoking is the cravings. But you have a better prospect of succeeding if you know what to expect. Find out more in this article.

One third of the adult population globally smoke cigarettes and it is responsible for more untimely deaths than anything else. Most smokers will want to quit at long last but the greatest obstacle is the cravings? How long is it before they stop?

How Do Cravings Work?

Cravings are what you get if you are a smoker and you stop smoking. Actually, you get cravings within a few minutes of finishing your last cigarette. That’s why from time to time you’ll have two cigarettes in a row. But largely when you finish a cigarette you do not get cravings straight away because you recognise that you’ll soon have another cigarette. Normally, you may go at least an hour or two without a cigarette.

So What Is Actually Happening?

Think when it comes to before you were a smoker. You never craved cigarettes. And now that you smoke, do they make you a much happier person? Nope.

The way that cravings work is that you smoke cigarettes to fetch yourself back to normality, the the “ground level”, where you were when you were a non-smoker. And when you don’t have cigarettes then you are basically tardily sinking down. Like someone being tardily buried alive, you crave what will get you out of this hole, in this case – a cigarette!

So with smoking you are always sinking and the cravings are just your natural response to this sinking feeling. Have a cigarette and the cravings are extinguished!

When I Stop, How Long Will They Last?

When you quit smoking, your cravings will get worse. It’s kind of like being tardily buried up to your head. As more time passes by, you will want a cigarette even more. After with regards to 3 days to a week, you’ll reach greatest or most complete or best possible cravings. If you are using willpower to stop then you will have to not give in now.

Then you’ll grow used to your circumstance and the cravings will gradually decrease rapidly over time.

Will The Cravings Disappear?

The problem with cravings is that they’ll never genuinely disappear. After you reach your peak then they will tardily disappear. But most smokers say that they’ll be there for life.

Also what may occur is that you may be walking down the street 2 years after quitting and abruptly get a huge craving. Most ex-smokers will undertake to put it out of their mind but numerous will also relapse. I know smokers who have quit for 10 years and then started again.

Does Everyone Get Cravings?

People who use established willpower based methods of stopping smoking always get cravings. But there is another technique that is used by a silent minority of smokers and thousands of people quit each year using methods that don’t implicate any willpower or cravings whatsoever. These methods don’t use smoking aids and they are very similar to cognitive behavioural therapy.

We all know that smoking cigarettes is doing you damage. A cigarette is not one thing but a nicotine inhaler. But in reality, the number of cigarette smokers is still going up. What’s the problem? In this article, we will be looking at numerous of the ways in which myths stop us from quitting smoking:

Myth 1: Smoking cigarettes is just a bad habit.

Fact: Cigarette smoking is an addiction. According to the American Heart Association, nicotine addiction has been one of the most difficult addictions to break. For a good deal of people, it may be as addictive as heroin or cocaine.

Myth 2: If you fail the introductory time, you will never be competent to get away with it.

Fact: Quitting smoking is tough. It needs determination and discipline that aid you achieve the goal. Where there is a will, there is a way. Many ex-smokers have failed a number of times before they at last get rid of cigarette smoking.

Myth 3: Gradually reducing the amount you smoke each day is the right way to quit.

Fact: There is not one thing wrong with the ‘cut down to quit’ method which allows smokers to be waned from their smoking habit at a slower pace by reducing their every day use of tobacco. But we have to say that even reducing the amount by half is still not smoking cessation. Still, it does not reduce the number of sicknesses caused by tobacco use. If you want to quit, then find a method that works for you and take action. It is not the time for procrastination.

Myth 4: Cigarette smoking helps me relax.

Fact: Smoking raises your blood pressure and does not aid you relax at all. If a smoker uses tobacco regularly, he will not feel comfortable without nicotine. He will experience withdrawal sensations or changes when he stops tobacco use.

Myth 5: Smoking helps me concentrate.

Fact: Smoking causes lack of oxygen to the brain. If the brain has been oxygen insufficient, it may cause brain harm and lose a heap of memory. The loss of memory may occur because of insufficient oxygen supply of the brain tissue that has passed from physical life in the mean time. When this tissue dies, all the memory it stores lose too.

Myth 6: Smoking looks cool.

Fact: Smoking does not look cool when you look at a great deal of pictures of lung cancer, mouth cancer, and tobacco stains. Those pictures will remind you that smoking tobacco is not cool!

Myths cause so much confusedness in people. If you believe in any of the above smoking myths, I suggest you to rethink in regards to it. Don’t let them weaken your will and determination to quit smoking today.

Smoking is an addictive habit. People who have a habit of smoking will tell you that they can not live without cigarettes. They need to smoke in regular intervals in order to keep themselves sane. This is what makes it hard for them to quit this habit. If you are applied to of smoking then your body and mind commence to crave cigarettes mechanically after sometime.

But what makes cigarettes this addictive? The answer is Nicotine. Nicotine is addictive substance that interferes amidst the flows of commands among our nerve cells and gives us a pleasant feeling. But this sentiment doesn’t last long and the body starts demanding cigarettes again. Slowly, our body and mind begin getting dependent on cigarettes to keep us calm.

Nicotine likewise formulates bad withdrawal symptoms. As our body is used to of it is presence and it is effects, it starts to crave nicotine. If not given, our body and mind starts to react badly. The body reduces the functions that it has got employed to do with the aid of stimulants given by nicotine. The same goes with mind.

If you want to quit smoking then you will have to tackle and face the nicotine withdrawal symptoms. These sensations or changes may include almost each uncomfortableness known to our body, psychology and brain. The result of your undertake to quit cigarettes depends on the way you manage these symptoms. If you are capable to face these sensations or changes and not give up then you will be capable to quit smoking for a long amount of time of time. But you have to be very strong as these sensations or changes may affect our mind and body very badly. But the good news is that none of the nicotine withdrawal sensations or changes last for long and they do not leave any long term effect on our body or mind.

The side effects of quitting smoking may include both mental and physical symptoms. The mental sensations or changes may include depression, desperation and sentiment of hopelessness. The person may feel like he has lost somebody very near and dear to him. Many persons show the signs of mental intense feelings of suffering and pain as if they are going through a major trauma in their life. It is genuinely very traumatic to quit for galore persons as over the years, the cigarettes becomes a percentage of their life and a source to get relaxation. Losing this source is like losing a close friend for most people.

If the smoker has been using the cigarettes as a tool to reduce tension and stress then quitting them may also cause him a lot of anxiety. He may feel the need to smoke each time he faces a tough circumstance and without cigarettes he may feel trapped in his own feelings. People who are attempting to quit smoking are more prone to get anxiety and panic attacks in the original few smoke-free weeks than in other days.

The person attempting to quit smoking may feel a slow down in his thinking pattern due to the absence of nicotine stimulants. It has been seen that the efficacy and productivity of laborers decrease while they are attempting to quit smoking. All of these sensations or changes may last for with regards to two to four weeks. But if any of these sensations or changes last more than that then you must see a doctor as it may be a sign of a lot of other mental problem.

Apart from mental, there are a number of physical side effects of quitting smoking also. These sensations or changes include fatigue, stomach cramps, indigestion, constipation, head ache, cold and cough. These sensations or changes may likewise last for two to four weeks after quitting cigarettes. Many people also experience extreme hunger pangs due to the absence of stimuli for the body and mind.

Quitting smoking may be a tough occupation as it has numerous side effects. But these side effects ought to subside in when it comes to a month of the last cigarettes. Also, they may be hard to bear at the time but they don’t affect our body in the long run. Rather, our body feels more inviolable without the bad effects of smoking.

Many humans have heard of the cold turkey quit smoking method but where does the phrase ‘cold turkey’ actually come from? Well, it is thought to be a description of the withdrawal effects that heroine addicts must endure when they stop using. One of these withdrawal sensations or changes is a cold sweat leading to goose pimples on a clammy skin. It’s regarding the same a cold turkey before it goes in the oven at thanksgiving (without the butter of course!).

The roots of the phrase cold turkey also underline the extreme physical pain affiliated with heroine withdrawal. It is such a powerful drug (hence all the social difficulties it causes) that it leaves addicts with severe physical side effects when not taken. This uttermost is erroneously transposed into the smokers’ mind when using the cold turkey quit smoking method. Quitting smoking is nowhere near as painful!

Personally, I define the cold turkey quit smoking method as any method that does not employ the use of drugs or physical aids or ‘crutches’ to aid the smoker. By this I mean the likes of nicotine alternate therapy (patches, gum, lozenges, spray etc.), chantix, zyban or any herbal treatment, phony cigarettes or aversion therapies.

I do consider things like cognitive behavioural therapy and hypnotherapy to fall into the cold turkey quit smoking method because they do not condone the use of drugs to try and aid the smoker. They condone the power of the mind to get over the problem of nicotine addiction.

In the case of acupuncture and laser therapy, there is little proof that these methods work and they both require physical interference. Anecdotally of course, there are numerous ex-smokers that employed these methods but studies have shown no betterment in quit rates when equated to cold ‘turkeyers’.

Hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy are both cold turkey quit smoking methods that are known to be effective. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a means of altering your thinking (cognition) and behaviour to a specific event, habit or aspect of life.

Unlike the classic cold turkey “lock-yourself-in-a-room-and-suffer” method of quitting smoking, hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy work by dealing with smokers’ mental perceptions of smoking.

In the case of hypnotherapy as a cold turkey quit smoking method, the smoker may be ‘taught’ to respond to cravings for cigarettes by thinking in regards to a pleasant time in their life to get over the craving. The smoker may likewise be ‘taught’ to dislike smoking. Many people with great success quit smoking using hypnosis but a heap of fail too.

In the case of cognitive behavioural therapy, smokers are staged with a whole new view on smoking. It is a system by which the hugely perplexed psychological trap of smoking, is broken down into bite-size pieces. Each piece of the trap is then dismantled, leaving smokers with little choice but to quit of their own free will.

Unlike the classic cold turkey quit smoking method, smokers who quit using cognitive behavioural therapy often times report knowing that they have quit and that they will never smoke again. It is not the same with hypnotherapy or acupuncture or laser therapy.

I am of course a proponent of cognitive behavioural therapy. When I stopped smoking using this method, it was an epiphany. It was like my eyes had been opened after years in the darkness. The moment I stopped I knew I would never have another cigarette and it was a hugely liberating experience. However, it is not the same for every one and there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ method for quitting smoking.

Generally, my counsel to all smokers is to undertake any and each method to find the one that works for them. There are a great deal of ways to get off cigarettes and the cold turkey quit smoking method is just one of them.

Spending cash on money-back guaranteed schemes primary is the best approach because if that scheme doesn’t work, you may get your cash back and move onto the next. If it does work, it will be cash well spent. But my final and most indispensable piece of counsel to any would be quitter is to never give up attempting to quit, no matter how soul demolishing the procedure seems.
